Emporia, Kansas is a town located in the East Flint Hills about two hours equidistant from both Kansas City and Wichita. Tyson Foods has a major meat packing plant there with more than 2000 workers. Emporia, Kansas is a small city of perhaps, 28,000 people, near the eastern Flint Hills in the sunflower state. Emporia has a major beef processing plant for Tyson Foods with over 2,000 employees. Dolly Madison Bakery and Hopkins Manufacturing are other major employers, as well.
