It’s Takfir baby, not Jihad say ‘our allies’ the Saudis, so it must be true, right?

On Friday the New American Foundation- a lefty group had James Glassman the new Undersecretary for Public Diplomacy AKA Dhimmi Diplobabble at State in to schmooze about what ‘new ideas’ on talking to the Muslim ummah. Glassman was formerly a resident scholar at the American Enterprise Institute and editor of The American published by AEI. Most of the presentation was the usual propaganda from the NAF and from official dhimmitude from Glassman. We note that the dynamic duo, Samah and Grover Norquist were there to monitor the proceedings, no doubt.
Bob Spencer had a post on it in Jihad Watch yesterday, given that Grover told a member of the audience that “Spencer Hates Muslims”. Bob in turn communicated that he would like to debate Grover on his remark. That, apparently was relayed in an email by an audience member to Grover’s Muslim wife, Samah. Nothing will likely come of it.
Towards the end of this Glassman talk and Q+A about 1 hour and 2 minutes one of the last questioners, Alan Nichols, ACT! for America chapter leader from suburban Maryland, asked about whether Islam espouses such extremism. Watch the NAF video here. Glassman mumbled about Salafism, which a member shouts out is ‘originalism’. Whatever that means. Glassman then zeroed in on takfir, excommunication by fundamentalist Muslims towards fellow Muslims who don’t follow ‘originalism’, no doubt. Takfir makes ordinary Muslims akin to apostates and kafirs, unbelievers, leaving them open to death threats. Takfir wal-Hijra is an extremist Salafist group that arose in Eqypt as an offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood and some allege is the core ideology of al Qaeda. Whereupon the NAF moderator, Steve Clemons jumped in and opined about some super secret Saudi research done on returning Jihadis regarding adherence to Takfir wal-Hijra and how they are different from the ‘religious ones’. C’mon. Clemons made the pitch for the taqiyya prone Saudis to release their ‘research’. I consider this a diversion from the problem with core Wahhabi Qu’ranic beliefs of political Islam. It means that in place of terms like Jihad, takfir will become the neologism of choice in the US terrorism lexicon to describe the radical Islamic minority out to kill the brothers in the ummah, as well as us. Now why would I trust anything from ‘our allies’ the Saudis, who espouse hatred toward unbelievers, Jews, Christians, Buddhists, Hindus, apostates, shun Muslims sects like the Shia, Sufis, Ahmadiyya and the kindly peaceful Baha’i? So, watch for the dhimmis at State, Homeland security, the CIA, National Security Council to tout takfir as the ideological culprit, rather that Sura 9.5 in the Koran espousing Jihad against all us kufirs.
