Council of Europe and Dutch Establishment warns Wilders against releasing anti-Quran film

coward-eu.pnggeertwildersfitnabeproevingqurankoranfilmlibertarianbe.jpgThe high leaders of Eurabia, the Council of Europe, are quaking in their boots about the film “Fitna” produced by courageous Dutch Parliamentarian Geert Wilders. Wilders threatened to release the film this month, although he hasn’t said when. He canceled the scheduled March 28th press conference. Even You Tube chickened out and took down an excerpt of the film So here’s what one of the high mucky mucks in the Council of Europe says:

“Freedom of expression should not be considered a license to offend,” said Maud de-Boer Buquicchio, deputy secretary general of the Council of Europe, a pan-European human rights watchdog.

If that isn”t cowardly or downright dhimmitude, the Dutch establishment will sue him for damages if he releases the film!!

Look at this comment from the Brussels Journal:

The Nieuwspoort press center in The Hague, which is run by a board of journalists, publishers and government press officers, demanded that Wilders pay 400,000 euros for extra safety measures. “Apparently, you have to be a millionaire to organize such an event,” Mr Wilders said. “Even if I had the money I am not going to spend it on a press conference.”

No Dutch broadcaster, public or private, has been willing to show the film. There are indications that Fitna will also be banned on Youtube, which removed a clip featuring Mr Wilders two week ago, on so-called “ethical grounds”.

Dutch international companies, fearing a boycott of their products by Muslims, have announced that they intend to hold Mr Wilders responsible for a loss of profits and markets in the event of a boycott. They have asked Gerard Spong, one of the top lawyers in the Netherlands, to see whether a court case claiming damages from Wilders will be possible. Mr Spong and several other lawyers have already lodged some fifty formal complaints against the politician for “incitement to racial hatred and discrimination of Muslims” because Mr Wilders expressed the opinion that the Koran is “a fascist book which should be banned in the Netherlands.”

You talk about Eurabian intimidation by Islamists. This is preposterous. Doubtless Wilders film will become a world wide video ’samizdat’ feature. I guess the Dutch don’t want another dead politician slaughtered on the streets of the country. No guts, no glory, Eurabians!

STRASBOURG. A senior Council of Europe official warned a maverick Dutch lawmaker Wednesday against releasing an anti-Quran film he has made, saying freedom of expression does not equal freedom to offend.

Freedom Party leader Geert Wilders has said he plans to air the film this month, though no date has been set.

The Dutch government says the constitutional right to freedom of expression means it is powerless to ban the film before seeing its contents.

The Netherlands has been warned by various Islamic figures and countries, including Iran, that releasing the film would breed violence.

“Freedom of expression should not be considered a license to offend,” said Maud de-Boer Buquicchio, deputy secretary general of the Council of Europe, a pan-European human rights watchdog.

She said Wilders had an extra responsibility not to humiliate Muslims because he holds a public office.

She also recalled past judgments by the European Court of Human Rights which have endorsed restrictions on freedom of expression to protect Christianity against insults and said other religions should be entitled to similar treatment.
